People’s Party and the PML-N leaders Bilawal Bhutto Zadari and Maryam Nawaz are expected to meet today to discuss the issue, sources said.

The delegation was invited by the chairman Senate and will meet President Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan and COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

Sources said that FBR chief Nausheen Javed Amjad excused meeting Sadiq Sanjrani minutes before the scheduled meeting.

While a National Assembly session is to be convened next week, the opposition has submitted a requisition to Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani to call a session of the upper house of Parliament as well

The meeting was attended by MQM-P convener Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Amir Khan, Faisal Sabzwari, Ameenul Haq, Senator Naseebullah and Senator Ahmed Khan.
