Victory notification of PTI’s Faisal Vawda withheld on court orders

KARACHI: Following a petition filed by PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif, the Sindh High Court on Tuesday ordered to stop issuance of a victory notification of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Faisal Vawda in NA-249. Shahbaz Sharif had challenged the results of NA-249 Karachi constituency in the court following which it issued notices to respondents including the Election Commission of Pakistan and sought replies by August 10. LAHORE: An accountability court on Tuesday declared Imran Ali Yousaf, son-in-law of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Shahbaz Sharif, an absconder in corruption case. Accountability judge Najamul Hassan gave the decision on the request of NAB-Lahore, which states that Ali has fled abroad while escaping the investigation into Punjab Power Development Company scandal.
