Shahzad Akbar said that PM Imran Khan approved recommendations tabled by the Sugar Inquiry Commission and cases will be filed under criminal law over the sugar scandal.
The petition filed by the sugar mill owners in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has made the federal government, inquiry commission's head Wajid Zia and others as parties.
The meeting to be chaired by Imran Khan on Sunday will decide over registering cases against those found guilty of their involvement in the sugar crisis.
The investment process will be transparent and no agreements will be made behind the closed doors, assured Asad Umar.
"Whoever found responsible in the inquiry report would face punishment," said PTI MNA Barrister Maleeka Bokhari.
The decision to export sugar was taken by the federal government not by the Sindh government, the AG SIndh said in a letter penned to DG FIA.
Shibli Faraz said that in past instead of responding to queries, the institutions were maligned to evade accountability process.
