A 6.2-magnitude earthquake on Indonesia’s Sulawesi island killed at least 35 people and injured hundreds on Friday.
The death toll had climbed to 1,649 with more than a thousand feared still missing in the seaside city on Sulawesi island.
More than 1,200 people are now known to have died in the quake-tsunami that smashed into Sulawesi, Indonesia.
Indonesia was rocked by a powerful 7.5 magnitude earthquake with the national disaster agency saying that "many" buildings had collapsed in the aftermath of the huge tremor.
An Indonesian was killed when his mother's coffin fell from a funeral tower and crushed him during a service.
