Earthquake rattles parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad

PESHAWAR: Earthquake tremors struck the northern parts of the country including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, FATA and Islamabad on Wednesday morning. However no loss of life was reported. According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the magnitude of the quake was recorded 5.1 on the Richter scale. According to reports, the tremors were felt between 8.15am and 8.30am. KARACHI: Gulistan-i-Jauhar and adjoining areas of Karachi were jolted on Tuesday morning with minor earthquake, ARY News reported. The residents of the area felt tremors this morning and came out of their homes, offices and shops in the area after the quake. ISLAMABAD: A sudden and violent shaking of the earth’s surface panicked residents in major areas of the upper country on Saturday. Tremors were felt in areas including Swat, Abbottabad, Batagram, Shangla and Chillas of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, ARY News reported.
