CJP calls for preventative measures to address water shortage issue

Vawda vows to overcome water scarcity in country

LAHORE: Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda on Tuesday vowed to overcome water scarcity across the country in collaboration with all the provinces. ISLAMABAD: An international symposium titled ‘Creating a Water Secure Pakistan,’ arranged by the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Saturday made 20 recommendations to overcome water shortage in the country. Supreme Court seeks govt reply on petition for building Kalabagh Dam

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Monday issued a notice to the federal government to submit a detailed reply on a petition seeking to build controversial Kalabagh Dam.  A bench of the apex court, headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, was hearing the petition calling for construction of reservoirs to preserve fast depleting water resources.
