Apple acquires New Zealand wireless charging company

SINGAPORE: Apple, which recently said it was including wireless charging in its latest iPhone X and iPhone 8 smartphones, has acquired New Zealand firm PowerbyProxi that designs wireless power products for consumers and industry.  An Apple spokesman confirmed the acquisition, which was earlier reported in New Zealand media. Qualcomm shows off wireless charging for electric vehicles

Qualcomm said on Thursday it had demonstrated how electric vehicles could be charged wirelessly while driving, a technology some believe will help accelerate the adoption of self-driving cars. The smartphone chipmaker said a so-called "dynamic charging" test took place on a test track in Versailles, France.
