PESHAWAR: Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has announced an extension in ceasefire till April 10 on Friday, ARY News reports.
In a statament, Taliban spokesman Shahidullah Shahid said that the militants are awaiting the government's reply to their demands. He added that the militant group agreed to extend the deadline and the future of the peace talks will be decided in a meeting of Shura after the tenth of April.
TTP spokesman ordered the militants not to carry out attacks in the country till the leadership gives its order.
It should be noted that the federal government had released 19 Taliban prisoners yesterday. A spokesman of the Federal Interior Ministry had said that the prisoners were non-combatants that were affiliated to Mehsud Tribe.
