Taliban committee calls on Nisar, decides to visit North Waziristan

ISLAMABAD: Taliban committee called on Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan in Islamabad on Wednesday to review negotiation process, ARY News reported.

 Taliban’s committee presided by Maulana Samiul Haq, during the meeting they reviewed the progress made so far in dialogue with Taliban and the future line of action.  

According to sources, Maulana Samiul Haq suggested to start negotiation process at earliest to extend cease-fire announcement. He said further delay in negotiation process could allow opponents to exploit it.

Samiul Haq said that as Taliban are committed to cease-fire agreement, is the responsibility of government to speed up the talk’s process.

Chaudhry Nisar  said the dialogue process with Taliban is being pursued with all seriousness and in this connection a new Government Committee has been formed. 

Sources also revealed that two members of Taliban committee along with one member of government committee would visit North Waziristan in the coming days to pave the way for timing and venue of direct dialogue between the new Government Committee and Taliban.
