Taliban committee repeats its demand to meet Army Chief, DG ISI

ISLAMABAD: A joint meeting of the Government and Taliban committees for peace-talks is expected to be held on March 22, whilst the Federal Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan is also likely to be present at the meeting – ARY News reports.

According to sources, a meeting of the Government and Taliban committees is likely to be held on March 22, at which the Federal Interior Minister is also expected.

The meeting will finalize the proceedings of direct talks with Taliban and a venue for this.

On the other hand, Taliban committee has once again demanded the Government to arrange its meeting with the Army Chief, General Raheel Sharif and DG ISI, Lieutenant General Zaheer ul Islam.

Member of Taliban committee, Professor Ibrahim while talking to ARY News, said that a meeting with the Army Chief and DG ISI is necessary for the committee to understand military's stance on the issue.

He told that the committee demanded this earlier too, whereas the venue and time for dialogue with Taliban will be decided in next two days.

Government team's Rustam Shah Mohmand says that the situation will be cleared in next 2 days, for a meeting is expected and the negotiations will finally be commenced from both the sides.
