ISLAMABAD: The committees representing government and Taliban militants have been prepared for talks and will meet today, Maulana Abdul Aziz, a member of Taliban talks committee has confirmed.
The meeting to discuss the mechanism of dialogue, ARY News reported on Thursday.
Pakistani government holding talks with Tehrik e Taliban Pakistan (TTP), an outlawed grouping of militant factions, to end terrorist attacks against civilians and military targets by the militants in the country.
The negotiators of two sides have agreed to stop statements against each other.
In today's meeting the government team will also discuss the Taliban committee about their mandate, sources said.
Moreover, the TTP leadership has demanded of the government to provide a helicopter to the interlocutors representing Taliban, so as they can hold consultations with Taliban leadership in Waziristan region.
