Taliban threaten polio vaccinator in Faisalabad; police lodge case
FAISALABAD: Police on Friday registered a case against death threats to a polio vaccinator from banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, ARY News reported Friday.
A resident of Ghulam Mohammadabad Asghar Ali told police that he received a phone call and a message from TTP on May 6, asking him to stop taking part in polio vaccination drive.
“They told me administering polio vaccination is wrong,” Asghar informed police. He received another message on May 15 that murder of he and his son had become necessary.
Initially Asghar informed district health officer about the entire episode, who then conveyed it to the police.
The case was registered at Ghulam Muhammadabad.
