Talks underway with ECP on biometric systems, says Inayatullah
PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Minister for local Bodies (LB), Inayatullah Khan has said that talks are underway with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on biometric systems for insuring transparent polls in the province – ARY News reports.
He was talking to media after a ceremony here on Thursday.
Inayatullah Khan told that National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has given 4 months of time period for providing the biometric systems, however the provincial government is trying to conduct the LB elections in least possible time frame.
He elaborated that the formation of delimitations in KP has been accomplished and the KP Government is now considering whether to hold step-by-step elections or all together in the entire province.
