Talks with govt fail as PAT demands dissolution of assemblies

TOP NEWS

According to details, government committee comprising of Ahsan Iqbal, Lt Gen. (R) Abdul Qadir Baloch, Aijaz ul Haq and Haider Abbas Rizvi held negotiations with the PAT committee, which included Raheeq Abbasi, Hamid Raza, Chaudhry Shujaat and others.

Both the sides held a detailed discussion on the persisting political deadlock in the country, however the negotiations failed as the PAT demanded for the dissolution of assemblies and registration of an FIR against the culprits of Model Town incident.

Talking to media after the negotiations, PAT leader Raheed Abbasi said that we have categorically informed the government’s committee about our demands.

He said that with Sharifs ruling the state, justice is not possible here; first the federal and the Punjab Government must be ousted then a case should be registered against the ones responsible for Model Town massacre.

Abbasi clarified that talks with government cannot advance until the acceptance of these demands.
