KARACHI: Temperature is expected to drop significantly as fresh rain spell with snowfall over the hills is expected in upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan from Monday.
The Met Office said rain with thunderstorm is expected at scattered places in Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Faisalabad, Islamabad, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan while at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper FATA, Multan, Bahawalpur, D.G.Khan, northeast Balochistan and upper Sindh.
The weather system is also expected to bring snowfall in Murree, Galiyat and other hilly areas on Monday and Tuesday.
Cold wave conditions are likely to prevail in most parts of Balochistan and Sindh including Karachi during this week.
A westerly wave is affecting upper and center parts of the country and may persist in upper parts of the country till Wednesday, the Met Office said.
