Terror plot: 6-kg bomb found, defused in Karachi

KARACHI: A six-kilogram bomb was found and defused in city’s Orangi town area in wee hours of Sunday, ARY News reported.

According to SP Orangi Sajid Sadozai, the remote-controlled bomb, connected with nut bolts, was planted in a rickshaw. Van of Rangers and police stationed nearby might have been a potential target, said the SP.

He said 4-kg explosives were used in a six-kilogram bomb. After the discovery of bomb, he said, Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was immediately called to the site.

After half an hour effort, the BDS successfully defused the bomb. Roads leading to the site were sealed during the BDS operation.

Law enforcers had also cordoned off and covered the areas until the bomb was defused.
