TOP NEWS

The latest deaths were reported from Mithi, where many children have perished. In last 45 days, as many as 85 children have died due to starvation and extreme drought conditions with no government action in sight to contain the aggravating living conditions.

Besides, different areas of district including, Naro, Islamkot and Kadanwari are facing food shortage. Residents of the area fear for the situation to get worse if the government does not take action within time.

Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah had arrived in Mithi a week ago with his ministers to discuss the drought crisis in Sindh’s desert district of Tharparkar.

However, despite meetings of the provincial government high-ups, the deaths and hard-scrabble living conditions in Tharparkar and its villages could not be contained as yet.
