Federal Secretary Planning, in a briefing on Wednesday said that the the 134 megawatt electricity, generated by Sachal Power Plant, will be included in the national grid this month.
“The power generated in Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park will be added in the national grid by December this year,” he said.
He added that the per unit rate of the power is yet to be decided.
The secretary said that the cost of technology being used to generate the electricity has gone down.
Senator Mohsin Aziz said that pollution has increased due to coal-based power projects.
Chairman Board of Investment Dr. Miftah Ismail has told Radio Pakistan on Friday that 20,000 MW electricity will be generated after completion of various power generation projects in the country.
He said that Karachi and Sahiwal coal plants will be completed in 2017 while coal project in Thar will get completed in 2018.
The Chairman BoI said that three wind power projects are also being built in Sindh and two more coal mining plants are being established in Thar.
He said all these projects will help to overcome energy crisis in the country.
