Third ODI: Pakistan eye clean sweep of West Indies

ABU DHABI: The third one-day international between Pakistan and West Indies will be played at Abu Dhabi on Wednesday (today), ARY News reported.

Pakistan will be looking to clean sweep the West Indies after winning the Twenty20 series 3-0. The Caribbean side will play for a consolation win after the green shirts have an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series.

Pakistan will climb one rank up to eighth position in the ICC ODI rankings if they will win the match today. Hosts England and seven other top ranked teams will directly qualify for the Super-8 stage of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 in England.

West Indies will drop to ninth place in the rankings if whitewashed today.

Pakistan has brought in batsman Mohammad Hafeez in place of pacer Mohammad Amir, who returned back home to attend to his ailing mother.

The match will start today at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on 04.00 pm Pakistan Standard Time (PST).

Pakistan (squad): Azhar Ali (captain), Asad Shafiq, Babar Azam, Hasan Ali, Imad Wasim, Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Rizwan, Rahat Ali, Sarfraz Ahmed (wicket keeper), Sharjeel Khan, Shoaib Malik, Sohail Khan, Umar Akmal, Wahab Riaz and Yasir Shah.

West Indies (squad): Jason Holder (captain), Suliemann Benn, Carlos Brathwaite, Kraigg Brathwaite, Darren Bravo, Jonathan Carter, Johnson Charles, Shannon Gabriel, Alzarri Joseph, Evin Lewis, Sunil Narine, Ashley Nurse, Kieron Pollard, Dinesh Ramdin (wicket keeper) and Marlon Samuels.
