Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first.
Pakistani batsmen showed a dismal performance and were all out for 102 runs. Only three Pakistani batsmen managed to score in double figures. Fawad Alam scored 38 runs from 73 balls whereas Misbah-ul-Haq made 18 runs from 30 balls. Ahmed Shehzad contributed 10 runs from 21 balls.
Lankan medium pacer Thisara Parera took four wickets whereas Dhammika Prasad took two wickets. Lasith Malinga, Rangana Herath and Seekkuge Prasanna took one wicket each.
In reply, Sri Lanka chased the target of 103 runs in 18.2 overs with ease. Tillikaratne Dishan remained unbeaten on 50 runs from 55 balls and Mahela Jayawardene from 26 runs from 32 balls. Upul Tharanga contributed 14 runs from 17 balls.
Pakistani bowlers Mohammad Irfan, Wahab Riaz and Saeed Ajmal took one wicket each.
Thisara Parera was named the Man of the Match and Man of the Series.
It should be noted that Pakistan suffered a 2-0 whitewash from Sri Lanka in the test series earlier as well.
