Three FC personnel martyred in Balochistan’s Pangjur district
QUETTA: Three Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel were martyred while three others were injured on Monday as unidentified attackers opened fire on their convoy in Balochistan’s Pangjur district.
A security source said that the a colonel was among three FC personnel martyred in the incident, while three others were severely injured. They attackers managers to flee after the incident.
The deceased and injured have been shifted to district headquarter hospital in Panjgur. Security forces cordoned off the area and conducted a search operation to apprehend the culprits but no arrested were made. The security was also tightened at the Washuk-Panjgur border in the aftermath of the incident.
Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi strongly condemned the incident and the martyrdom of the security personnel, and directed excellent health facilities for the injured.
Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal also condemned incident and said that anti-state forces fear the effects of CPEC. Chief Minister Balochistan Sanaullah Zehri also expressed deep sorrow over the loss of precious lives.
