Police said that the attack took place when the security personnel were performing their duties at a check post on Fatima Jinnah Road.
One traffic constable and FC officer were immediately killed on the spot, while two FC officers and a passerby were seriously injured in the incident. They were shifted to Civil Hospital where the FC officers succumbed to their injuries.
Initial investigations showed that two men arrived on a motorcycle and opened fired at the security personnel after which they managed to escape from the scene of the incident.
Police have recovered shells of 9mm pistol and have started further investigation into the targeted killings.
