Three labourers electrocuted in Lahore

LAHORE: At least three labourers were electrocuted at a house near Shalimar Chowk this morning, ARY News reported Sunday.

The labourers were carrying out shuttering work at a house near Shalimar Chowk when a 11-KV power transmission line fell on a wet wooden structure in the wake of rain, leading to death of three labourers.

The deceased persons were identified as Ahmed Nawaz Khan, Shabbir, and Naseer Ahmed Nawaz. Initially one labourer caught in the electric current, while two others also electrocuted while trying to save him.

Police have registered a case and declared it an incident.

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the incident in Shalimar area.

He expressed sympathies with the bereaved family and sought a report about the incident.
