PESHAWAR: Three militants were killed in a shootout with security forces in Khyber tribal region on Friday morning, ARY News reports.
In the early morning incident, security men tried to stop a vehicle in Shlobar area of Khyber region. The vehicle did not stop and fire opened from the vehicle. Security personnel retaliated and three persons were killed in the shootout.
Three others were found injured in the vehicle and were arrested, reports said.
Two security men were also injured in the exchange of fire.
According to reports a key commander of banned Lashkar e Islam militant outfit was among the three persons killed in the incident.
Moreover, unknown persons hurled hand grenade at a house in Mevozai area in Kohat. Fortunately no casualties reported in the incident.
Unknown motorbike riders in a shooting incident in Garhi Bazaar of Hangu killed a man and injured another.
Moreover, security forces have launched search operation for terrorists in Green Town, Gulshan Colony and Baranabad areas of Dera Ismail Khan.
