Three new polio cases bring total to 91 this year

PESHAWAR: Three new polio cases surfaced in the country on Monday, taking the total number of patients to 91 this year, ARY News reported.

All three new cases emerged from Tehsil Bara of Khyber Agency. A five-year-old girl Sumbul was detected with polio virus. Similarly a one-year-old Simran, hailing from Bara, was also found inflicted with polio. She lived in Shahdalay, a village of Bara.

In another case from the same district, a one-and-a-half-year old boy, identified as Ibrahim, was detected with a polio virus. He is a resident of Mirankhel.

In 2013, a total of 93 cases of polio cases were reported from across the country. However, 91 such cases have already been reported in a period of seven months this year.
