Police said the explosive material planted in a motorcycle parked along the road exploded as the vehicle of the security personnel came close to it.

As a result of the blast, three security personnel were wounded, who were later shifted to a nearby hospital for medical attendance.

After being informed of the blast, a contingent of police personnel arrived at the spot and cordoned it off for security purposes.

Earlier this week, three policemen, Additional Inspector General (AIG) Telecommunications Hamid Shakeel Durrani among them, were martyred in a suicide attack near Chaman Housing Scheme on Airport Road of the provincial capital city Quetta.
