The encounter between the terrorists and police contingent took place at Quetta Town near Super Highway when law enforcers carried out a raid on a tip-off and faced resistance from the criminals. All the three terrorists were gunned down during an exchange of fire with the police.
SSP Malir Rao Anwar said those killed in the encounter were suicide bombers, who had planned to target Muharram procession near Tibet Centre.
He said suicide jackets were also recovered from the slain terrorists.
SSP Rao Anwar said explosives are also recovered.
