Three terror suspects killed in Lyari shootout

KARACHI: Paramilitary Rangers killed three terrorists in an encounter in Lyari, ARY News reported on Thursday.

Rangers on an intelligence report, launched a search operation Taghlaq Lane in Chakiwara which led to a shootout with terrorists hiding in the locality.

Three members of an outlawed group were killed in the gunbattle. The slain militants were identified as Khan Darwesh, Arshad Khan and Habib.

Paramilitary personnel also captured four suicide jackets, three-kilo ball bomb, four kilogrammes of explosives and a Kalashnikov.

The law enforcement personnel have foilled a terrorist attack in the city. “The terrorists were preparing a bomb device to use it in a terrorist attack in Karachi,” a Rangers spokesman said.

A policeman posted at Kalakot police station was recently killed in a shooting incident in Lyari.

Terrorism acts and other crimes in the city were scale down in Karachi after Rangers led operation against criminals, which was launched in September 2013.

Recent killing of prominent Qawwal Amjad Sabri and abduction of the son of the Chief of Justice of Sindh High Court indicate towards regrouping of the criminals to make life miserable for the citizens.
