ISLAMABAD: Special court hearing treason charges against former president Pervez Musharraf adjourned hearing of the case until Thursday (tomorrow) on request of the defence counsel, ARY News reported on Wednesday. 

Defence lawyer Anwar Mansoor pleaded to the court for adjournment of hearing so as he can attend hearing of the review petition of Pervez Musharraf against the apex court's July 31st verdict in judges case.  

He said that he has received the court's notice about prosecution's plea to summon the head of the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC) for cross-examination. 

The court granted the plea of the defence counsel and adjourned the hearing for Thursday (tomorrow ).

A three-member bench of high court judges headed by Justice Faisal Arab of Sindh High Court hearing treason charges against former military ruler Musharraf.

The prosecution had submitted an application before the court and raised a number of objections to the report prepared by the medical board of the AFIC. 

The medical board in its report had declared the condition of Gen Musharraf as critical and recommended his treatment at a place of his choice.
