ISLAMABAD: Former president Pervez Musharraf failed to appear before the special court for treason hearing, ARY News reported on Thursday. The court in previous hearing had ordered him to appear today.

The court headed by Justice Faisal Arab will announce its decision over absence of the former president in the court at 3:00 pm today.

Chief Prosecutor of the case Akram Shaikh in his arguments said that the former president deliberately violating the court order. He said the medical report of Musharraf didn't say that he could not appear before the court due to his medical condition. He said non-compliance of the court orders is contempt of the court. He pleaded to the court to take action against the former president over violation of its orders.

"A person who fails to appear on court orders loses his right to defend," the prosecutor said. "Egypt's former president Hosni Mubarak was produced before the court on stretcher".

Defence Counsel Anwar Mansoor in his arguments said Akram Shaikh is "prosecutor", he should not play the role of "persecutor" in the court.

At a point the government counsel and lawyers of Musharraf exchanged hot words.

The defence counsel said that the doctors have advised Pervez Musharraf to visit the same hospital where he went earlier for his medical checkup and suggested him to go France for treatment of his ailment.
