LAHORE: A petition has been filed at a sessions’ court, seeking registration of treason case against Jang & Geo group and its owner Mir Shakeel-ur-Rehman, ARY News reported Monday.
A petitioner, Sardar Aftab Ahmed, said Jang & Geo group had attempted to malign Pakistan Army and its subsidiary institution –Inter Services Intelligence (ISI).
He maintained that no inquiry had been launched into the attack on Hamid Mir, while key security institutions of the country were blamed for the offence.
The petitioner alleged that Jang & Geo group connived with foreign powers to malign security institutions of Pakistan.
He requested the court to issue orders for lodging treason case against Mir Shakeel-ur-Rehman and Amir Mir, brother of Hamid Mir.
The court sought report from the Lahore police chief and SHO concerned and adjourned the hearing till April 23.
