Treason Trial: Court orders Gov’t to provide security to Musharraf

ISLAMABAD: A special court has issued a written verdict in the treason trial against former President General (R) Pervez Musharraf directing the Federal Government to provide him adequate security – ARY News reports.

In the order that consists upon 3 pages, signatures of 3 judges were also present. It was said that the accused was summoned time and again but, he did not appear before the court.

The attorneys of Pervez Musharraf took the stance that the Federal Government has not provided adequate security to the ex-President, so he is unable to be appeared before the court.

At this, the court said that Pervez Musharraf's offence is non-bailable and the accused will have to present himself before the court during the next hearing.

Moreover, the Federal Government was ordered to provide suitable security to the accused to insure his presence in the court.
