The South African side scored 189/9 in their 50 overs with Farhaan Behardien being the top scorer with 62 runs from 82 balls, which included four fours and a six. Opener Hashim Amla and skipper AB de Villiers made 35 and 22 runs respectively.

Josh Hazlewood, Nathan Coulter-Nile and Glenn Maxwell took two wickets each for Australia while Nathan Lyon and Adam Zampa dismissed one South African batsman each as well.

Australia, chasing 190 runs to win from 50 overs, were all out after scoring 142 runs in 34.2 overs. Aaron Finch scored 72 runs from 103 deliveries with the help of six boundaries and three sixes while Nathan Lyon contributed 30 runs with the blade.

Kagiso Rabada grabbed three wickets for South Africa while Wayne Parnell, Imran Tahir and Aaron Phangiso got three wickets. Debutante Tabraiz Shamsi dismissed one Australian batsmen in the game.

Behardien was named Player of the match.
