NA-122 case: Different colours ballot papers found in bags

TOP NEWS

The judge entrusted to probe irregularities in NA-122 in his statement said that several seals of vote bags were broken.

The inquiry commission head Ghulam Hussain Awan told the tribunal judge Justice Kazim Ali Malik that due to the negligence of polling staff, ballot bags with broken seals have been included in the report along with invalid votes and the ballot papers with different colours. Judge Kazim stated that if what the report says will be true he will personally look into the NA-122 ballots even if all the vote bags have to be reopened.

The lawyers of the two sides completed the cross-examination of the statement of the inquiry judge Ghulam Hussain Awan in the hearing today.

Counsel of Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, talking to media after the hearing, said that lawyers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan did not raise any objections over the ballot papers in the hearing.

Supporters of PTI and Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) chanted slogans against each other on the occasion.
