ANKARA: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Afghan President Hamid Karzai and Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan  met here prior to the Trilateral Summit on Afghanistan, ARY News reported on Thursday. 

The leaders discussed the agenda of the conference and other matters of mutual interest. 

Earlier, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who has been on a three-day official visit to Turkey called on Turkish President Abdullah Gul at the Presidential Palace in Ankara and discussed the matters of mutual interest. 

The 8th Afghanistan-Pakistan-Turkey  Summit will begin today to discuss the situation after pullout of Nato forces from Afghanistan.

The Trilateral Summit mechanism provides a platform for furthering high level political dialogue, security cooperation and development partnership among the three countries for promoting peace and stability in Afghanistan.

Sharif will also visit Istanbul to meet leading Turkish investors.
