LAHORE: Hours after a section of media reported that a police officer has been suspended over his viral dance video with a woman, the actors in the video came forward to clear the air about the false news, ARY News reported.

As ARY News tried to verify the news, it emerged that both the man and the woman are only actors and recorded the video during the rehearsal of a stage play.

The man in the video named Shehzad Aasi came forward and recorded another video to clear the air about the first one.

“My name is Shehzad Aasi and I am a stage artist, the video that went viral was from a rehearsal of a stage play. I have no connection with police which is a respected institution,” said Shehzad.

Social media users and Pakpattan residents mistook the actor for SHO Arshad for his uncanny resemblance with the police officer.

Earlier, a section of media reported that a Station House officer (SHO) at Kalyana Police Station in Pakpattan, was suspended after the video went viral on social media.

Reports said that SHO Arshad was suspended and the police department had started investigating the matter.

The police officer, on the other hand, too recorded a video and categorically denied his involvement in the incident.
