TTP declines to extend ceasefire any further

PESHAWAR: Banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has announced not to extend ceasefire with the Government any further, saying that the Government did not do anything during 40 days truce – ARY News reports.

TTP spokesperson, Shahidullah Shahid said on Wednesday that the organization has decided not to extend truce with the Government of Pakistan any further. He stated that the 40 days truce did not have any positive outcome, whilst 40 50 of TTP members were also killed during this period.

Shahid said that only 19 prisoners were released by the Government, yet the list of arrested Taliban provided by TTP was long enough.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif has summoned a meeting of the National Security Committee (NSC) tomorrow, for which Chiefs of all the three armed forces have also been invited.
