TTP handed over initial demands to peace committee, says Shahid

PESHAWAR: Taliban spokesperson, Shahidullah Shahid has said that Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) handed over its initial demands to the peace committee for presenting them to the Government – ARY News reports.

The coordinator of Government's team for peace talks, Irfan Siddiqui has contacted the Taliban committee.

Yousuf Shah, coordinator of Taliban committee, informed Siddiqui about the proceedings of their meet with Taliban's political shura'a.

Referring to the meeting with Taliban committee, Shahidullah Shahid told that Molana Yousuf Shah and Professor Ibrahim presented Government's demands before Taliban shura'a.

He stated that the Taliban leadership after due consultation, responded positively and handed over its initial demands to the committee.

Shahid further told that both the sides agreed upon providing a better atmosphere for talks, taking forth the peace process and not to demonstrate any haste in this regard.
