SIALKOT: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Punjab police claimed to have arrested a terror suspect said to be associated with the banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) on Friday night.

Sources told ARY News that the CTD personnel arrested the suspected terrorist during a raid in the Pasrur Road area.

They said the suspect, identified as Sabbir alias Tayyab Pehlwan, was affiliated with the outlawed TTP. Explosive material was recovered from his possession.

The arrest came at a time when Punjab police have launched a major manhunt for the arrest of the suspects behind a suicide attack on the outskirts of the provincial capital on Wednesday night.

Over 10 people, mainly police personnel, were killed whereas more than a dozen others injured when a suicide attacker blew himself up near a police check-post set up for the security of the religious gathering of Tableeghi Jamaat in Raiwind.
