Turkish ambassador calls on Army Chief at GHQ
RAWALPINDI: Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan H.E Mr. Ihsan Mustafa Yurdakul met Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at the General Headquarter (GHQ) on Monday.
The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) notified of the meeting between the Turkish envoy and General Bajwa.
The matters pertaining to mutual interest including regional security issues were discussed during the meeting, ISPR said.
Last month, a meeting took place between Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa at the General Headquarter.
A statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the focus of the discussion between the visiting Turkish minister and the COAS remained on Pak-Turkey relations, regional security including emerging situation in the Middle East, management of defence and security cooperation between both the countries.
Turkish FM acknowledged and appreciated Pakistan’s contributions to conflict prevention in the region and also pledged to keep working for better relations between the two brotherly countries.
Prior to the Turkish Minister’s meeting, British High Commissioner, Thomas Drew also called on General Qamar Javed Bajwa and talked about the matters of mutual interest and security situation of the region.
The visiting dignitary also pledged to keep working for better relations between the two countries.
