Turkish PM arrives for two-day visit

LAHORE: Prime Minister of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has arrived here for a two day visit, ARY News reports on Monday.

He will meet the President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif during the visit. The two top officials of the countries will sign Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) for development in the energy sector and other projects.

Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif and Speaker of the Punjab Assembly Rana Iqbal and provincial ministers welcomed the Turkish Prime Minister upon his arrival with trade delegation, comprised on 40 officials, and his family at the Allama Iqbal International Airport. He was given a 21 gun salute and a guard of honor.

A wonderful display of fireworks was also made on the occasion.

Tough security measures have been made for the state visit.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan will stay at Lahore on the first day whereas he will stay in the Federal Capital Islamabad on the second day of his visit. He will also address the Pakistan-Turkey Business Forum whereas a lunch will also be given in his honor at 2pm today.
