ISLAMABAD: Two former prime ministers, Yousuf Raza Gilani and Raja Pervez Ashraf, appeared before an accountability court in Islamabad on Tuesday for the hearing of the reference regarding appointment of Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority’s (OGRA) former chairman Tauqeer Sadiq, ARY News reported.
Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Bashir during the hearing ordered provision of the copies of the reference to the accused.
The counsel of Yousuf Raza Gilani submitted a plea for exemption of his client from appearing before the court due to security reasons.
The Judge granted the plea and adjourned hearing of the reference until March 05.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had filed a reference against the two former prime ministers, over the appointment of Tauqeer Sadiq as OGRA chief.
