RAWALPINDI: Security forces on Thursday killed two prominent commanders of Jamaatul Ahrar in an operation conducted on Pak-Afghan border, sources told ARY News.
According to sources, the commanders, namely Wajihullah alias Ahrar and Hikmat alias Qari Zubair were killed in the operation done as a part of the ‘Operation Raddul Fasaad’. The two commanders reportedly helped plan the February 13 Lahore blast.
In a similar activity on Friday, army destroyed four training camps of Jamaatul Ahrar on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. Sources claimed that the army destroyed the camp and training compound of Jamaatul Ahrar deputy commander Adil Bacha along with three other terrorist camps.
It is pertinent to note here that Jamaatul Ahraar had claimed responsibility of the 13 February blast in Lahore which killed 14 people including two senior police officers.
