Two held for killing friend for ‘honour’ in Karachi

KARACHI: Police on Thursday apprehended two suspects for allegedly killing a man for hounour in the Korangi area of Karachi, ARY News reported.

The police said the suspects slit open the throat of their friend, Bilawal, in the name of honour on October 13 in Korangi.

Talking to ARY News, Superintendent Police (SP) Abdullah Memon said that one of the suspects, Kashan, had the doubt that Bilawal had illicit relations with his wife.

The  police officer disclosed that the suspects slit Bilawal’s throat with a sharp knife while they were riding on a motorcycle and threw his body in the Korangi area and sped away. He said the suspects have confessed to the felony.

The police said they have recovered the knife and a motorcycle following the information provided by the suspects during interrogation.

‘Honour killing’: Man kills grandmother, sister in Gujranwala

Earlier, a man had allegedly killed his grandmother and sister while injured another sibling in Qila Dedar Singh town of Gujranwala on April 15.

Police said the suspect opened fire on his family members after a heated argument, which resulted in the death of his grandmother and sister, whereas another sister sustained injuries.

The deceased were identified as Bashira Bibi and Iqra. Investigation officer Waqas Ahmed said as per initial investigation, honour seems to be the motive of the killings.
