Two Lyari gang-war suspects killed; 5 others die in city

KARACHI: Two suspected Lyari gang-war criminals were gunned down in encounter with law enforcers on late Saturday, ARY News reported.

Besides targeted action of police and Rangers, at least five people were killed in different firing incidents across the city.

Two bullet-riddled bodies were found from Malir and Quaidabad areas. The deceased could not be identified as yet. Their bodies were sent to hospital for medico-legal formalities.

A man was gunned down in Pehlwan Goth while resisting a robbery bid. The robbers fled scene after completing their action.

Similarly, armed culprits shot dead a man in old Golimar area. He was identified as Izhar.

Separately, two suspected criminals were killed in police encounter. In another encounter with Rangers and police, two Lyari gang-war gangsters were shot dead. They were identified as Asim Dada and Dadu Memon. SSP Sheraz Nazir said the slain criminals were involved in over 40 cases of murder. Heavy cache of weapons were recovered from their possession.

Meanwhile, five people were injured in two separate grenade attacks in Orangi and Metroville. Police, however, could not trace the attackers.
