The attack took place within the jurisdiction of Sachal Police Station, when armed assailants ambushed police check-post in the area. They opened fire on the policemen and fled.
The deceased cops were identified as Ali Raza and Ghulam Jafar. Police investigators said the attackers used 9mm pistols, while eye witnessed have also recorded their statements.
Police said the attackers were attired in a pant shirt. Additional IG Mushtaq Maher, who reached the spot after the incident, said the cops were not wearing bullet-proof vests resulting fatality in the attack.
It is learnt that assailants also made off with weapons of the deceased cops. The case has been registered at Sachal Police Station
Meanwhile, IG Sindh has also sought report of the incident.
