A police mobile van was on routine patrol in Chamkani area when it was targeted by unknown motorbike riders. Head Constable Mukhtiar and Constable Shah Saud were killed in the incident.
An assailant was killed in retaliatory firing of police.
The funeral prayers of the two martyred policemen offered at Peshawar police lines. I.G. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nasir Durrani, other officers of the department and relatives of the slain policemen attended funeral prayers.
Police Chief Nasir Durrani said that the terrorists under a new strategy are hitting the policemen in heads.
He further said that the target killer killed in the shootout with police was resident of district Dir.
He said the Army has launched operation in FATA while police fighting with terrorists in urban areas.
