UAC to observe strike tomorrow

KARACHI: Ulema Action Committee (UAC) has announced the strike against the assassination of Mufti Usman Yar Khan and other Ulema in Karachi on Friday, ARY News reported.

Leader of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Samiul Haq (JUI-S) Qari Usman said on Thursday that a peaceful strike will be observed in the mega polis against the killings of Ulema for which some other political and religious parties have been invited.

Leaders of JUI-S have laid the demandes for the arrest of culprits involved in the killing of Mufti Usman Yar Khan, proper security for the Ulema and to indemnify the heirs of martyred scholars.

President of Karachi Transport Unity, Irshad Bukhari has declared the complete shutdown of public transport in the country.

Furthermore, University of Karachi has cancelled the papers scheduled to be held on January 24, while private schools association has announced that school will remain close for tomorrow.

Ulema has warned for countrywide protest if the their demands not fulfilled extending the protest in front of CM House, Governor House and Police Head Office.

Earlier, motorbike riding target killers gunned down JUI-S leader Mufti Usman Yar Khan along with two others at Karachi’s Sharae Faisal on Friday (January 17).
