UEFA Champions League: Atletico, Real battle for European supremacy

LISBON, Portugal: Spanish clubs Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid will battle each other in the final of UEFA Champions League at  Estádio da Luz of Lisbon in Portugal on Saturday, ARY News reports.

Real Madrid qualified for the finals after beating German side Bayern Munich whereas Atletico Madrid had defeated Chelsea to make it to the finals of the European Championship.

Atletico Madrid will be seen in action of the UEFA Champions League final for the first time since 1974. It has not won the title in its 111 year history and will be playing to change their fortune.

They head defeated their derby rival in the final of Copa del Rey 2013 by 2-1.

On the other hand, Real Madrid will be eyeing their ninth European title having won the title in 2002 last time. This will be their 13th Champions League final.

Real coach Carlo Ancelotti announced that Cristiano Ronaldo will be fit to play the heavily anticipated final. The attacker was facing muscle problems and was out of action since their match against Real Valladoid on May 7.
