Ulama Deoband demand arrest of Rawalpindi mobsters, compensating victims

LAHORE: Ulama e Deoband on Saturday demanded the Government to arrest the culprits of the Rawalpindi Incident and to pay off the damages caused due to an armed clash and violence during Ashura procession – ARY News reports.

According to details, Pir Saifullah Khalid chaired the meeting of scholars of Deoband school of thought. After which, Abdur Rauf Farooqi and Molana Shams ur Rahman Muawiya while addressing a press conference, demanded the Government to stop the arrests of Jamat-e-Ahle Sunnat leaders.

It was added that no surety of peace can be given, if the Government does not fulfill the demands.

They further mentioned that if the federal committee of the Jamat-e-Ahle Sunnat calls for a protest, then all the major highways of the country will be blocked including the one in Lahore.
